All-around Root Control
Protect your investment
Based on the chart above, Biobarrier’s performance could well exceed the guarantee of 15 years.
Hardscapes and landscapes are a big investment, and traditional methods of protecting them have meant repeatedly spending time, effort and money. But a one-time installation of BIOBARRIER Root Control System or BIOBARRIER ® Weed Control System means years of security from roots or weeds growing where they’re not wanted. Constant maintenance is a thing of the past with these easy-to-use systems, allowing you to spend your time and budget in other areas. Tree roots seek out air and moisture in the soil, causing expensive damage to underground infrastructure. BIOBARRIER’S unique geotextile design lends flexibility to surround infrastructure, extending the life of your investment.
Biobarrier® utilizes an award-winning, state-of-the-art technology. Developed as a long-term solution for vegetative root intrusion and possible structure damage, Biobarrier combines a proven geotextile fabric with a proven pre-emergence herbicide. The only active ingredient in Biobarrier, trifluralin, has been used extensively in commercial applications for more than 40 years and continues to be widely recognized as a leading pre-emergence herbicide. The patented controlled-release process, unique to Biobarrier, delivers only the amount of trifluralin biologically necessary to inhibit root growth. Biobarrier’s innovative technology ensures that precise amounts of herbicide will be dispersed at the correct location for an extended time. This provides a distinct advantage over repeated applications of herbicides required by conventional methods. On the following pages, standard installation procedures for a broad variety of Biobarrier applications are summarized. Should you require additional drawings or instructions, please call us.

I know of lots of highways where bio-barrier has been used to save maintenance workers from the danger of working on the roads. They also use it between the highways instead of having grass, so they do not have to mow. I mainly use it in horizontal. It also helps with root control. An effective, safe, excellent product."
